SecureLockWare™ uses the powerful AES encryption algorithm for securing data, the same encryption standard used by the US Government. - Fully Supported on all Buffalo Storage Products
SecureLockWare™ is device-independent and will work with your current Buffalo storage devices. No hardware update is required.
What options does it offer?
SecureLockWare™ offers three security options:
Drive encryption: You can encrypt your entire storage media with SecureLockWare™. All data on the device is secured and impossible to access, without inputting the password you set during the encryption process.
File/Folder encryption: You can also encrypt individual files or folders. The files or folders are then secured and impossible to access without inputting the password. Various settings are available within SecureLockWare™ including encryption strength and default file destination.
PC Lock: PC Lock prevents unauthorized use of your PC by requiring a USB "key".

SecureLockWare uses powerful AES encryption. That's why it's secure.
All storage media encrypted by Secure Lock Ware requires a password to access its contents. It is virtually impossible to analyze and extract any useable data from an AES encrypted data stream, so your data is secure.

The PC Lock function works with Windows to prevent unauthorized access to your keyboard and hides the display contents from prying eyes. When the PC Lock is enabled by removing the USB drive from the computer, the custom Secure Lock Ware logo screen appears and prevents data on the screen from being displayed.
